The Warehouse and Logistics Staff - Commissary is responsible for managing the flow of goods within a commissary warehouse, including receiving, storing, issuing, and distributing inventory such as food, supplies, and other goods. This role ensures products are accurately stocked, rotated, and issued in accordance with commissary policies and health and safety regulations.
Receive and inspect deliveries of food, supplies, and other commissary items.
Ensure proper storage of perishable and non-perishable items according to safety and inventory control guidelines.
Pick, pack, and issue commissary orders for internal distribution or customer pickup.
Maintain up-to-date inventory records using commissary inventory systems.
Rotate stock to minimize waste and spoilage; monitor expiration dates and product condition.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in regular inventory counts and audits; report discrepancies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, cold storage, and loading areas.
Follow commissary policies, food safety protocols, and sanitation procedures.
Communicate effectively with commissary staff and management to ensure operational accuracy.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a commissary, food service, or institutional setting.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and food safety standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cold storage, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Forklift or pallet jack certification (or willingness to obtain).
Attention to detail, reliability, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of HACCP, FIFO, and other food storage practices is a plus.
Warehouse environment, including cold storage areas.
May require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
Physical demands include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
