A Waiter (also known as a Server) is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking food and drink orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience for customers. They must be friendly, efficient, and have strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and warmly.
- Provide menus, answer questions about the menu, and offer recommendations.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- Ensure that guests are satisfied with their food and beverages during their dining experience.
Serving:
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner.
- Check in with customers during their meal to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care.
Maintenance:
- Set up tables with clean linens, glassware, and utensils.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including clearing tables and resetting them after guests leave.
- Assist in cleaning and restocking supplies as needed.
Billing and Payment:
- Present checks to customers and process payments.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and give correct change.
Team Collaboration:
- Work with other waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to provide seamless service.

- Previous experience as a waiter or in customer service is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage offerings (or willingness to learn).

- Basic math skills for handling checks and payments.
