Job summary

JTI Liggett in Raleigh, NC seeks a Customs and International Trade Associate to support US HTS classification, recordkeeping, CTPAT programs, and regulatory changes within the Global Tax function.

You will collaborate with the US Customs and International Trade Manager and other stakeholders to ensure compliance across US entities, while identifying efficiency improvements and cost savings in import/export processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international business or supply chain.
• 2+ years of customs and trade compliance experience; excise taxes knowledge a plus.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong analytical and attention to detail; MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage US HTS classification, record retention, CTPAT programs, regulatory changes and system oversight.
• Support duty drawback processing with our third party broker and prepare claims.
• Audit reporting and communicate status to stakeholders; identify opportunities to reclaim duties.
• Stay current on import/export regulations and government initiatives.
