HR Network Inc. is seeking an experienced Non-Life Underwriter in the Philippines to assess and underwrite risks, negotiate with insurers, and manage renewals. You will work with Account Executives and Insurers to develop competitive insurance solutions while ensuring quality and compliance.
A strong background in Property and Engineering exposures is preferred. The role requires 3+ years in non-life underwriting, with proactive, detail-oriented, and independent work style, plus applicable
The role will be responsible for risk assessment, coverage structuring, market placement, insurer negotiation, and renewal strategy. The position will also work closely with Account Executives and insurers to develop competitive insurance solutions while ensuring quality, compliance, and service standards.
Assess and underwrite risks across various non-life insurance lines, with strong focus on Property Insurance.
Analyze risk exposures, claims history, survey reports, and other technical information to recommend appropriate coverage, limits, and policy terms.
Prepare underwriting submissions and coordinate with multiple insurers for market placement.
Negotiate premiums, deductibles, warranties, extensions, and other terms to secure competitive solutions for clients.
Review and compare insurer quotations, including coverage, conditions, and overall value—not just premium.
Manage complex risks, renewals, and portfolio performance, including loss ratio reviews and risk improvement recommendations.
Collaborate with Account Executives, Sales, Claims, and Compliance teams and provide technical guidance when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or any related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Non-Life Underwriter, preferably with strong exposure to Property and Engineering.
Insurance certifications (e.g., PIRA certifications) are an advantage.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
Strong knowledge of non-life insurance products, risk assessment, and market placement.
Proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently.
Strong understanding of corporate insurance needs and client risk profiles.
Experience in insurer negotiation, portfolio management, and handling complex risks is an advantage.
