Job summary

Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital is seeking a qualified ultrasound technologist to support the Radiology Department. You will assist radiologists in OB/GYN and general ultrasound, prep patients, manage records, and ensure efficient daily operations.

The role requires a BSRT or equivalent with PRC licensure, ultrasound training, and familiarity with HIS/RIS. You will coordinate with nursing units, handle reports, and help maintain equipment and inventory in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• BSRT degree or equivalent.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist (PRC).
• Sufficient training in ultrasound and special procedures.
• Experience with Hospital Information System (HIS) or Radiology Information System (RIS).

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetric-gynecologic and general ultrasound procedures and patient preparation.
• Conduct patient interviews and obtain medical history prior to examinations.
• Assist radiologists during procedures and perform pre-scanning as directed.
• Prepare and check the ultrasound machine, room, supplies and linens.
• Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of probes and equipment after each procedure.
• Encode procedures, assist with billing requirements, and coordinate with nursing units.
• Prepare reports by entering examination values and templates for physician review.
• Manage and release ultrasound results and tag to radiologist/physician.
• Transfer and archive ultrasound images and manage 3D/4D images and videos.
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone, text, and Viber and provide instructions.
• Monitor supplies and inventory and coordinate replenishment.
• Ensure radiologists/subspecialists are available and coordinate relievers when needed.
• Assist as backup for Mammogram Unit when required.
• Maintain organized files and assist preparations for DOH and PhilHealth inspections.

About the role:
We are looking for a qualified and patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology Department. The successful candidate will assist radiologists and ultrasound subspecialists in performing ultrasound examinations, managing patient preparation and records, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring efficient daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with Obstetric-Gynecologic and General Ultrasound procedures and patient preparation.

• Conduct patient interviews and obtain relevant medical history prior to examinations.

• Assist radiologists/ultrasound subspecialists during procedures and perform pre-scanning as directed.

• Prepare and check the ultrasound machine, examination room, supplies, and linens.

• Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of ultrasound probes and equipment after each procedure.

• Encode procedures, assist with billing requirements, and coordinate with nursing units for inpatient examinations.

• Prepare reports by entering examination values and appropriate templates for physician review and finalization.

• Manage and release ultrasound results while ensuring proper tagging to the assigned radiologist/performing physician.

• Transfer and archive ultrasound images and manage 3D/4D images and videos.

• Respond to patient inquiries through phone, text, and Viber and provide appropriate examination instructions.

• Monitor ultrasound supplies and inventory and coordinate replenishment as needed.

• Ensure scheduled radiologists/subspecialists are available and coordinate relievers when necessary.

• Assist as backup staff for the Mammogram Unit when required, while prioritizing ultrasound services.

• Maintain organized files and assist in preparations for DOH and PhilHealth inspections.

• Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) or equivalent under applicable grandfathering provisions.

• Licensed Radiologic Technologist with a valid PRC license/card.

• Sufficient training in ultrasound and special procedures.

• Experience with Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), or equivalent computer systems.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients, relatives, physicians, and hospital staff.

• Willing to report on time and respond to emergency or urgent situations when required.
