Outsourced Quality Assured Services Inc. (ISO Certified), based in the Philippines, seeks an experienced bookkeeper to deliver UK-compliant bookkeeping using Dext and QuickBooks Online. The role covers ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, CIS processing and VAT returns.

You will work remotely from Metro Manila with UK business hours, respond to clients, maintain records, and ensure deadlines are met. Strong attention to detail and GDPR awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices, sales invoices and receipts through Dext.

• Verify CIS records and prepare CIS returns and deductions.
• Prepare VAT returns under various schemes and ensure MTD compliance.
• Respond to client queries and maintain communication logs.
• Use Engager and other apps while keeping Light Work data policies.

1. Role Purpose

To deliver accurate, timely and compliant bookkeeping services using Dext and QuickBooks Online, including ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, CIS processing and VAT return preparation. The role ensures client records are kept up to professional standards and statutory deadlines are met.

2. Key Responsibilities

General Bookkeeping

• Process purchase invoices, sales invoices and receipts through Dext.
• Maintain accurate ledgers within QuickBooks Online.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and match transactions.
• Prepare journals including payroll journals at the month end
• Maintain clean, organised digital records in line with Light Work policies.

CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)

• Verify subcontractors and maintain CIS records.
• Process CIS deductions and prepare monthly CIS returns.
• Reconcile CIS suffered and CIS deducted for clients.
• Ensure all CIS submissions meet HMRC deadlines.
• Send to client at least one week before the deadline.

VAT Compliance

• Prepare VAT returns under Standard, Cash and Flat Rate schemes.
• Ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Identify VAT errors, risks and opportunities.
• Communicate VAT liabilities and deadlines clearly to clients within at least one week before the deadline.

Client Communication & Support

• Respond to client queries professionally and promptly.
• Request missing records and clarify bookkeeping issues.
• Provide guidance on best practice for record-keeping.
• Maintain communication logs within Engager.

Software & Systems

• Use Dext, QuickBooks Online, Engager, and supporting apps.
• Maintain accurate digital files and follow Light Work data policies

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Competent in Dext and QuickBooks Online.

4. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

• Bookkeeping tasks completed within internal deadlines.
• Bank reconciliations kept up to date with zero unexplained balances.
• CIS and VAT returns submitted on time with minimal errors.
• Low rework rate on reviewed files.
• Workflow tasks completed within Engager target timelines.

5. Compliance & Governance

• Adherence to HMRC, MTD and CIS regulations.
• Maintain GDPR-compliant handling of client data.
• Follow Light Work Accounting internal procedures and quality standards.

6. Optional: Probation Expectations

• Demonstrate consistent accuracy in bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Complete CIS and VAT returns independently with minimal review poi

Work Location

• Home based work set up
• Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm UK time
• Should have strong internet connection (minimum of 20 mbps)
• Should have own Laptop/PC (minimum of i5 8GB RAM)
