You will lead a team to ensure merchant funds are properly positioned and payouts are accurate and timely, while shaping PayMongo's liquidity strategy and treasury controls as the business scales.

About The Role

As Treasury Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring PayMongo has the liquidity, funding, and treasury infrastructure needed to reliably move money for Filipino businesses every day. You will oversee PayMongo's day-to-day cash and liquidity management while helping shape longer-term treasury decisions around investments, banking relationships, credit facilities, and financial resilience. Because PayMongo operates a payments platform, treasury goes beyond managing corporate cash. You will also help ensure that merchant funds are positioned correctly and that scheduled payouts can be completed accurately and on time. This is an opportunity for an experienced treasury professional who combines strong operational discipline with commercial judgment, financial acumen, and leadership capability.

What You'll Do

Own Cash & Liquidity Management

• Oversee daily cash positions across operating and merchant fund accounts.
• Ensure bank balances are accurately reconciled against internal records.
• Investigate and resolve cash discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate and audit‑ready records of cash movements.
• Work closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure treasury balances are properly reflected in financial records.
• Maintain appropriate liquidity to meet PayMongo's operating and merchant obligations.

Lead Cash Flow Forecasting

• Build and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash‑flow forecasts.
• Monitor actual cash flows against forecast and investigate significant variances.
• Continuously improve forecasting assumptions as the business evolves.
• Identify potential liquidity gaps or excess cash early.
• Translate forecasts into clear recommendations for funding, investment, and liquidity decisions.
• Present cash and liquidity insights to Senior Management.

Manage Investments & Cash Placements

• Identify and evaluate suitable placement opportunities, including time deposits, money‑market instruments, and similar products.
• Assess opportunities based on yield, liquidity, maturity, and risk.
• Negotiate rates and commercial terms with banks and financial institutions.
• Monitor placement maturities and determine whether funds should be rolled over or redeployed.
• Maintain visibility over the company's placement portfolio and its performance.

Manage Banking Relationships

• Manage the lifecycle of corporate bank accounts, including account opening, documentation, signatory changes, and closures.
• Build productive relationships with partner banks and financial institutions.
• Negotiate banking, placement, and financing terms where appropriate.
• Ensure PayMongo's banking structure supports efficient cash concentration, transfers, and disbursements.
• Coordinate with banking partners to resolve operational issues that could affect the business.

Secure & Manage Credit Facilities

• Assess short- and long-term funding requirements.
• Identify appropriate credit facilities and financing options.
• Lead discussions and negotiations with banks and financial institutions.
• Evaluate facility pricing, terms, and covenants.
• Monitor utilization and covenant compliance.
• Ensure available facilities remain aligned with PayMongo's expected liquidity requirements.

Safeguard Merchant Funds & Payouts

• Monitor merchant fund accounts and ensure adequate funding ahead of payout schedules.
• Oversee intra-bank and inter-bank fund transfers.
• Support merchant and payee payouts through channels such as PesoNet and InstaPay.
• Forecast funding requirements across PayMongo's different products and business lines.
• Identify potential funding gaps early and take action before they affect merchant payouts.
• Ensure treasury controls protect the accuracy and reliability of cash movements.

Oversee Treasury Operations

• Business disbursements and payments.
• Accounts receivable monitoring and escalation.
• Merchant and customer refunds.Bank and cash reconciliations.
• Treasury documentation and controls.
• Coordination with Accounting, Finance Operations, Product, and Support when treasury issues require cross-functional resolution.

Lead & Develop the Treasury Team

• Provide direction and oversight to Treasury team members.
• Establish clear priorities across daily operations and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure strong controls and accountability around time-sensitive cash movements.
• Coach team members and strengthen treasury capability as the function evolves.
• Help develop processes and operating practices that can scale with PayMongo's growth.

Team & Reporting

The Treasury Manager sits within PayMongo's Finance / Treasury function and reports directly to the Head of Finance.

• Treasury Operations Specialist

You will work closely with Senior Management, Finance & Accounting, Product & Engineering, and Merchant Operations/Support. Externally, you will build relationships with partner banks, financial institutions, investment and placement counterparties, and other relevant financial partner.
