The Treasury Associate is responsible for supporting the company's treasury and cash management operations through accurate and timely recording of customer payments, preparation of official receipts, processing of supplier payments, and monitoring of cash flow and liquidity. The role ensures the integrity of financial transactions, maintains proper documentation, and supports the organization's working capital and funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Receipts and Payment Posting
- Record and post customer payments received through various payment channels into the appropriate systems.
- Verify payment details against billing and bank records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile payment transactions and identify discrepancies for resolution.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of collections and cash receipts.
Official Receipt Management
- Prepare and issue official receipts for validated customer payments.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely release of official receipts.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of issued receipts in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Assist in monitoring receipt utilization and inventory.
Supplier Payment Processing
- Prepare and process check payments and other approved disbursement transactions to suppliers and vendors.
- Verify supporting documents, payment requests, and approval requirements prior to check preparation.
- Coordinate check release schedules and maintain records of released payments.
- Monitor outstanding checks and coordinate with suppliers regarding payment concerns.
Cash Flow and Liquidity Management
- Monitor daily cash balances and funding requirements.
- Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports.
- Track cash inflows and outflows to ensure sufficient funding for operational requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and other departments regarding cash requirements, payment schedules, and collection projections.
Treasury Operations and Reporting
- Prepare treasury-related reports, reconciliations, and schedules as required.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to treasury transactions.
- Assist in bank reconciliations and cash position reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
Process Improvement and Compliance
- Maintain proper documentation and records of treasury transactions.
- Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes and transaction efficiency.
- Comply with company policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related field.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in treasury, accounting, finance operations, cash management, or related functions.
- Experience in utility, energy, or shared services environments is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
