Visayan Electric Co., Inc. is seeking a Testing and Diagnostic Engineer to perform field audits and testing of meters and instrument transformers.

The role requires technical analysis, vector diagram interpretation, and finalizing reports to support metering projects such as AMI, net metering, and RF smart meters. The candidate will collaborate with the VECO Metering Operation Department on-site at Banilad, Cebu, ensuring safe, accurate testing and timely documentation to improve service

Formación

• Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer.
• Must have a valid professional driver's license.
• Knowledge of motorcycle operation is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform field testing orders on power and non-power accounts on site.
• Audit and inspect metering field wiring and instrument transformers.
• Conduct technical analyses including vector diagrams and test result interpretation.
• Prepare supporting documents such as test results and audit reports for planning and rehabilitation projects.
• Maintain up-to-date Metering Testing and Rehabilitation Plans and tools.

As a Testing and Diagnostic Engineer, you will be responsible be responsible in performing field audit and testing of meters and/or instrument transformers as well as in performing technical analysis, not limited to vector analysis, wiring connection troubleshooting, integrity and functionality tests, and other forms of testing relevant to metering and other specialized metering applications like AMI, Dual Source Metering, Net Metering and RF smart meters.

You will work closely with the Metering Operation team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

• Performing field testing orders on all power and non-power accounts on site.
• Performs audit and inspection of metering field wiring, instrument transformers and related setups .
• Performs technical analyses, not limited to vector diagram analysis, wiring connection audit and test result interpretation, on meters and instrument transformers.
• Creates the necessary supporting documents (i.e. pictures, test results, audit reports, etc.) as bases of:
• Metering Testing Plan
• Metering Rehabilitation Plan
• Update M-Test Application at all time
• Make oneself available to attend to matters of difficulty in nature.

Education & Experience

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Registered Electrical Engineer
• Must have a professional driver's license
• Knows how to drive motorcycle (preferrably 4-wheeled vehicles)

Technical / Functional Skills

• Ability to perform meter reading verification and validation for demand and net metering accounts.
• Skilled in analyzing meter data, including basic load consumption checks and discrepancy identification.
• Experience in preparing accurate field inspection and verification reports.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting metering issues and investigating unbilled or irregular consumption accounts.
• Knowledge of safety practices, field procedures, and proper use of testing tools and equipment.
