Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Support Engineer in Mariveles, Philippines. The role acts as the Systems Integrator across Mechanical, Electrical, I&C/DCS, and Reliability & Performance functions, coordinating with Operations and Maintenance to deliver results and drive continuous improvement.

You will monitor CAPEX/OPEX, support capital investments governance, and contribute to lifecycle management. A background in power generation engineering and a licensed engineer are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 3 years of experience in cross-functional support for engineering management, project management, or departmental governance
• Background in power plant or heavy industrial environment with knowledge of power generation processes
• Licensed Engineer or equivalent technical certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic Systems Integrator aligning Mechanical, Electrical, I&C/DCS, and Reliability & Performance disciplines
• Monitor and balance the department’s CAPEX and OPEX to meet utilization KPIs and enforce cost control
• Consolidate CAPEX projects and provide governance/support for investments before IPGC
• Lead asset condition reviews and provide governance over maintenance strategy and Lifecycle Management Plan revisions
• Drive process optimization by revising ETSV business processes and monitoring operational indicators

Job Description - Support Engineer

As Support Engineer, you will act as a direct extension and the strategic 'right hand' of the Engineering and Technical Services (ETSV) Department Head in the governance of the department. Under the guidance of the Engineering Support Supervisor, your primary mission is to serve as a vital 'Systems Integrator,' seamlessly unifying all Systems Engineering and Reliability & Performance functions across Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, I&C/DCS Systems, and Reliability & Performance Management and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Operations and Maintenance team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Serve as the strategic 'Systems Integrator' to align cross-functional engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, I&C/DCS, and Reliability & Performance).
• Meticulously monitor, track, and balance the department’s CAPEX and OPEX cash flows to meet utilization KPIs and enforce cost control measures.
• Identify and consolidate CAPEX projects, providing governance and preparation support for capital investments defended before the Investment and Projects Governance Committee (IPGC).
• Lead comprehensive asset condition reviews and provide technical governance over maintenance strategy, outage scope, and Lifecycle Management Plan (LCMP) revisions.
• Drive process optimization by leading revisions to ETSV Business Processes and monitoring/trending operational indicators to enable proactive decision-making.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in in any Engineering field
• 3 years of experience in in cross-functional support for engineering management, project management, or departmental governance.
• Background in a power plant or heavy industrial environment, demonstrating sound knowledge of power generation technology and specific engineering processes.
• Preferably a Licensed Engineer or holds equivalent related technical certifications.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Strong skills in Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C/DCS Systems to successfully integrate multi-disciplinary functions.
