Opportunity Overview

The Test Technician is responsible for performing entry-level testing, troubleshooting, verification, and validation activities for products and assemblies within the PBT Business Unit. Working under close supervision, the incumbent executes established test procedures, records results, and supports manufacturing and engineering teams in ensuring products meet quality and performance requirements.

This role is ideal for individuals beginning their technical manufacturing career who are eager to develop knowledge of test systems, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and quality processes. The Test Technician 1 applies basic technical knowledge while following established procedures and guidelines to support production, quality, and customer requirements. The role aligns with an entry-level position focused on learning professional concepts and applying basic problem-solving techniques within defined procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional, electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
• Execute routine troubleshooting activities and elevate complex issues to engineers, senior technicians, or supervisors.
• Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment, fixtures, and supporting hardware.
• Record test data accurately and maintain required production and quality documentation.
• Identify product defects, test failures, and nonconforming conditions and report findings to appropriate personnel.
• Verify products meet quality, reliability, and performance requirements before shipment.
• Support engineering and manufacturing teams during product builds, validation activities, and process improvements.
• Follow all ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Participate in 5S, continuous improvement, and workplace organization initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational objectives.

All About You

• High school diploma, vocational certification, associate degree, or equivalent technical training preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, electronics, testing, or technical experience is an advantage but not required.
• Basic understanding of electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to learn test methodologies, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements.
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and basic test equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and test documentation.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
