Job summary

Teradyne in the Philippines is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for instruments assembly and test. You will work with assemblers and test technicians to ensure high quality, efficient operations and continuous process improvement.

The role requires a BS in Electronics Engineering, strong troubleshooting skills in C++ and Visual Basic, and excellent MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams at all levels.
• Experience with software/hardware troubleshooting (C++, Visual Basic).
• Proficient in MS Office and internet-based tools; data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement manufacturing process improvements within schedule and budget.
• Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and performance.
• Troubleshoot process issues and fine-tune to reduce defects.
• Develop and maintain process documentation in line with ECOs.
• Plan workforce utilization and equipment layouts for Lean efficiency.
• Support ECNs for product reliability and quality improvements.
• Perform final quality checks before shipment; collaborate with assembly/test teams.
• Digitize processes used in instrument assembly and testing.

Opportunity Overview

• Designs manufacturing process improvement within schedule and budgetary parameters
• Implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability
• Troubleshoot process related issues and fine tune processes to eliminate process-induced defects
• Implement statistical process review on new and existing productsReview processing methods and provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
• Develop and maintain process documentation up-to-date and in accordance with ECOs
• Studies and plans workforce utilization, space and tools requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and in accordance with LEAN manufacturing philosophy
• Estimates and studies production time, staffing requirements, and related cost to provide information for management judgment
• Initiates, review and approve ECNs for product's reliability, quality and improvement
• Performs final quality check to product before shipping to customer
• He shall closely work with Assemblers and Test technicians for Instrument assembly quality and OTC(Option Test Cell).
• Develop and maintain documentation and digitization of processes used in assembly and test of Instruments
• May support new product transfers
• Remote support to other OPS site/regions

• Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering or equivalent courses.
• Must have high reasoning skills.
• Must have a high sense of urgency.
• Must be capable of interfacing with cross-functional teams across different levels of the organization.
• Must have software and hardware troubleshooting skills (e.g. C++, Visual Basic).
• Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in computer operation, MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio, etc), and familiarity with internet based program navigation, with ability to generate and interpret computer data.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• ETS800 Experience is a plus
