SAP Test Automation Developer – Tricentis Tosca

Position Overview

As an SAP Test Automation Developer, you will support enterprise SAP test automation initiatives across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, BW, MDG, and integrated business systems.

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test suites using Tricentis Tosca, while supporting SAP testing activities across transformation, enhancement, and sustainment projects.

The role involves close collaboration with automation engineers, functional analysts, QA teams, and SAP consultants to ensure reliable and efficient testing of critical business processes.
Work Setup: Hybrid - 4 days RTO/ 1 day remote- Night Shift

Key Responsibilities

Automated Test Development and Maintenance

• Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca.

• Create and update Tosca Modules, Test Cases, Test Templates, and Test Data structures.

• Execute automation development tasks in accordance with established standards and best practices.

• Maintain automation assets following SAP enhancements, project changes, and system upgrades.

• Identify opportunities to improve automation stability, reusability, and efficiency.

Test Execution

• Execute automated test suites across SAP environments.

• Analyze test execution results and document defects, issues, and observations.

• Support defect triage by gathering evidence and reproducing issues when required.

• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to validate fixes and support retesting.

• Monitor automation execution results and elevate issues appropriately.

Test Data and Environment Support

• Create and maintain test data required for automation execution.

• Support test data parameterization activities within Tosca.

• Assist with environment validation and automation readiness activities.

• Coordinate with project teams to ensure required test data and application access are available.

Quality Reporting and Documentation

• Document test execution results and automation development activities.

• Assist with reporting automation progress, execution metrics, and defect trends.

• Maintain automation documentation and repository standards.

• Ensure automation assets comply with established testing standards and governance requirements.

Collaboration and Continuous Learning

• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and technical training activities.

• Work with senior automation engineers to develop SAP and Tosca expertise.

• Apply feedback from peer reviews and coaching sessions to improve technical skills.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to SAP test automation.

Key Skills and Experience

Must-Have

• 1–3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test automation.

• Experience with Tricentis Tosca or strong willingness to develop Tosca expertise.

• Basic understanding of software testing principles and application lifecycle management.

• Experience executing test cases and documenting test results.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to quickly learn business processes and technical applications.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP applications or ERP systems.

• Familiarity with SAP business processes such as SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, or related functions.

• Experience with OpenText ALM/QC.

• Knowledge of test automation concepts and frameworks.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

• Experience in regulated industries, including familiarity with GxP or validated environments.
