Job summary

Devex Incorporated seeks a Quantity Surveyor (Tender) to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for tender submissions by analyzing documents and defining project costs. You will build and maintain a cost database and collaborate with project teams to ensure bids are well-founded.

The role includes market research, detailed breakdowns, and attending pre-bid meetings, to support timely tender submissions and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering/Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 1 year minimum experience in quantity surveying with tendering focus.
• Professional license and membership is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and scope of works.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all aspects of construction projects (materials, labor, overhead).
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to support estimating.
• Conduct market research to obtain up-to-date pricing and cost trends.
• Provide detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates for tender submissions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to gather information and clarify details.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project conditions.
• Communicate with internal teams and external clients to address queries or concerns.
• Maintain accurate tender documentation including estimates, correspondence, and changes.
• Ensure cost estimates comply with company standards, regulations, and client requirements.
