Director / Associate Director
Technology Delivery & Transformation
We are seeking an accomplished technology leader to lead and transform its multidisciplinary technology organization in the Philippines. The role combines organizational leadership, technical credibility, executive communication, and demonstrated transformation experience.
The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams spanning Software Engineering, Application Operations, and related technology disciplines, with responsibility for predictable delivery, talent development, stakeholder confidence, and the evolution toward proactive, technology-enabled, outcome-oriented operations.
We are looking for someone who can run today’s delivery while building tomorrow’s organization.
Lead multidisciplinary teams of software engineers, application specialists, technical leads and other technology professionals; establish clear ownership and performance expectations.
Build a strong second line of leadership through coaching, delegation, succession planning and leadership development.
Own workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, retention, performance management and resource continuity.
Manage difficult people situations with fairness, empathy, professionalism and decisive follow-through.
Create a high-trust, inclusive culture of integrity, accountability, constructive feedback, technical excellence and collaboration.
Strengthen collaboration across functions and geographies, reducing silos and developing shared responsibility for outcomes.
Oversee software engineering, application operations, enterprise integrations, production support and related delivery initiatives.
Establish disciplined engineering practices across architecture reviews, code quality, testing, CI/CD, documentation, release readiness and operational resilience.
Guide teams through complex application, integration, performance, data quality and production issues.
Work with architects and senior engineers to evaluate technical designs, dependencies, trade-offs and risks.
Balance operational commitments with modernization, technical debt reduction and strategic initiatives.
SQL and data: Strong understanding of complex SQL, query optimization, relational databases, data validation, reconciliation and integration troubleshooting; exposure to Snowflake, PostgreSQL or SQL Server is beneficial.
Python and APIs: Practical experience with Python scripting, backend services or automation; familiarity with FastAPI, REST, JSON, authentication, logging and exception handling.
AWS and cloud: Working knowledge of Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, cloud security, monitoring and integration patterns.
Demonstrate sufficient hands‑on engineering experience to challenge solutions, guide troubleshooting and earn the respect of senior technical contributors; daily production coding is not required.
Develop and execute a pragmatic transformation roadmap across engineering and operations, aligned to business priorities and measurable outcomes.
Shift reactive support toward proactive monitoring, automated validation, root‑cause elimination, exception management and continuous service improvement.
Identify opportunities to use SQL, Python, AWS, APIs and reusable engineering components to reduce manual effort and improve quality and reliability.
Champion responsible adoption of GenAI, AI‑assisted development and intelligent automation with appropriate security, governance and human oversight.
Connect application specialists, software engineers, data engineers and business analysts to solve shared problems and deliver reusable solutions.
Lead change with empathy and discipline: address resistance, close skill gaps, preserve delivery stability and build employee confidence.
Build transformation business cases, establish baselines, prioritize pilots, secure required sponsorship and approvals, and demonstrate verified benefits before scaling.
Support movement from activity‑based execution toward measurable business outcomes, without assuming ownership or deployment of unapproved services.
Serve as a credible senior representative of the company in client leadership forums, governance meetings, technical reviews and escalations.
Translate technical and organizational issues into clear business implications, options, decisions and action plans.
Build trusted relationships, manage competing expectations, influence without positional authority and handle difficult conversations confidently.
Present delivery performance, organizational risks, transformation progress and improvement recommendations with clarity and executive presence.
Define and monitor KPIs for delivery predictability, incident trends, MTTR, SLA performance, recurring issues, defect escape, engineering quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
Establish consistent risk reviews, escalation practices, root‑cause analysis, change controls, documentation and knowledge transfer.
Develop application playbooks, backup coverage, technical competency matrices and structured performance reviews.
Ensure alignment with security, architecture, compliance and approval requirements; maintain evidence-based reporting and auditability.
15+ years in software engineering, technology delivery, application operations or related leadership roles, including at least 7 years of people management.
Proven experience managing managers, team leads, senior engineers and cross‑functional teams in a complex enterprise environment.
Demonstrable technical grounding in SQL, Python, AWS, software engineering and enterprise integration.
Track record of leading a meaningful technology transformation, operational modernization, engineering productivity or automation initiative from planning through execution.
Experience building high‑performing teams, addressing underperformance, improving retention, developing future leaders and leading organizational change.
Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presentation, negotiation, conflict resolution and senior client stakeholder management skills.
Ability to define baselines, business cases, roadmaps and KPIs, and to show measurable improvements rather than unverified benefit claims.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
Leadership experience in global technology services, financial services technology, consulting or a global capability center.
Experience managing organizations of approximately 20–50+ people across technical disciplines.
Exposure to Snowflake, ServiceNow, enterprise investment applications, data engineering, reconciliation or cloud‑native services.
Experience with Agile, DevOps, ITIL, engineering governance, modern testing practices and AI‑assisted development.
Experience with internationally distributed teams and culturally diverse working environments.
People‑first accountability: Build trust and engagement while setting clear standards and addressing performance gaps.
Technical credibility: Understand trade‑offs and guide engineers without micromanaging implementation.
Executive presence: Represent the organization confidently, clearly and maturely.
Cultural alignment: Demonstrate integrity, humility, transparency, empathy and respect.
Change leadership: Bring teams along through transformation without undermining morale or delivery.
Ownership and strategic judgment: Resolve issues, develop successors and build sustainable capabilities.
First 60 days: Assess organization structure, technical depth, leadership bench, delivery risks, recurring incidents and improvement opportunities.
Days 60–90: Establish people and delivery governance, prioritize transformation opportunities, align sponsors and define measurable pilot outcomes.
Months 4–5: Sponsor approved automation or engineering improvement pilots, launch capability‑development plans and strengthen cross‑functional ways of working.
Month 6: Present evidence‑based progress, lessons learned, organizational capability improvements and a practical scale‑up roadmap.
Success will be evaluated through stronger team capability and retention, effective leadership succession, predictable engineering delivery, improved operational reliability, reduced repeat incidents and manual effort, responsible automation adoption, stakeholder confidence, and measurable transformation benefits. Baselines and targets should be agreed with stakeholders rather than assumed in advance.
The ideal leader combines the technical credibility of an engineering leader, the maturity of an experienced people manager, and the communication skills of a senior client‑facing executive.
