Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production operations by setting up and buy-off of machines, performing routine maintenance on strip test equipment, and ensuring high-quality output.

You will record repairs, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and implement improvements to enhance reliability, safety, and equipment uptime, while following SOPs and 5S practices.

The role involves close collaboration with team members and travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Education level as Technical/associate degree in electronics, mechanical, electrical, computer, or related field.
• 1 year of related experience is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret machine diagrams.
• Basic knowledge in test handler and tester machines is an advantage.
• Travel time: 0% - 25%.

Responsibilities

• Performs conversion set-up and buy-off of machines and equipment to support production operation needs and ensures high-quality product and fast cycle time.
• Performs routine maintenance repair and sustain maintenance on strip test equipment.
• Records all repair and maintenance work done including spare parts used for monitoring equipment utilization and data accuracy.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement solutions to restore equipment functionality.
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
• Comply with SOPs and company rules and regulations.
• Implements equipment improvement projects to improve capabilities and reliability.
• 5S compliance within the area of responsibility.
• Troubleshoot equipment-related problems to minimize downtime and deplete inventories.
• Work closely with team members to coordinate maintenance schedule and address equipment efficiency.
