Diagnosing Vehicle Problems Conducting thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles.
Performing Repairs and Maintenance Repairing or replacing faulty parts, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and other vehicle systems, and performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections.
Using Diagnostic Tools and Equipment Operating specialized diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately pinpoint issues and verify repairs.
Ensuring Safety and Compliance Adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations while working on vehicles and maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment.
Documenting Work Keeping detailed records of repairs, parts used, and services performed for each vehicle.
Customer Interaction Explaining technical issues to customers, providing estimates for repairs, and advising on maintenance procedures.
Staying Updated Continuously updating knowledge of automotive technology, software, and repair techniques, especially as vehicles become more technologically advanced.
Quality Control Testing vehicles after repairs to ensure issues are fully resolved and the vehicle is operating safely and efficiently.
Team Collaboration Working with other technicians and workshop staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery service.
Inventory Management Managing parts inventory, ordering necessary parts, and ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Diagnosing Vehicle Issues Identifying problems with trucks through visual inspections, diagnostic tools, and customer descriptions.
Repair Maintenance Performing repairs on truck engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering systems, and other components. Conducting routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Troubleshooting Using diagnostic equipment to pinpoint malfunctioning parts or systems and determining appropriate solutions.
Replacing Faulty Parts Removing and replacing defective parts with new or refurbished components, ensuring proper fit and function.
Performing Safety Checks Ensuring trucks meet safety standards, including brake tests, lighting, and emissions checks.
Maintaining Records Documenting repair procedures, parts used, and maintenance history for each vehicle.
Adhering to Safety Procedures Following safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workshop.
Customer Communication Explaining repairs needed, costs, and maintenance schedules to customers clearly and professionally.
Using Diagnostic Equipment Operating specialized tools and software to identify electronic or mechanical issues.
Staying Updated Keeping abreast of new technologies, tools, and repair techniques specific to trucks and heavy vehicles.
Managing Workshop Equipment Ensuring tools and diagnostic equipment are maintained and used properly.
