Job summary

Tie-up Associates and Manpower Resources Inc. is seeking a skilled water heater technician to install, inspect, and service water heating systems in residential or commercial settings.

You will read wiring diagrams, use hand and power tools, and perform preventive maintenance while adhering to safety policies and ensuring reliable hot water supply.

Overtime and on-call work may be required; experience with electrical/plumbing basics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Vocational/Technical course in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC/R, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in water heater installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems, plumbing, piping, valves, thermostats, heating elements and water pressure systems.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install new water heaters, including other types of water heating systems.
• Conduct inspection and testing of water heaters, associated piping, electrical connections, valves, thermostats and heating elements.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot water heater problems such as no hot water, insufficient hot water, leaks, electrical issues, faulty thermostat or heating element, and pressure/temperature problems.
• Perform repair and replacement of defective or damaged components and parts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• - Graduate of Vocational/Technical course in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC/R, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• - With experience in water heater installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting is preferred.
• - Knowledge of basic electrical systems, plumbing, piping, valves, thermostats, heating elements, and water pressure systems.
• - Ability to read basic electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• - Must be familiar with the proper use of hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and maintenance equipment.
• - Physically fit and capable of working and in different areas, including elevated or confined spaces when required.
• - Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• - Willing to work overtime, weekeneds, holidays, or on-call schedules when necessary.
• - Must observe and strictly follow company safety policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• - Install new water heaters, including other types of water heating systems.
• - Conduct inspection and testing of water heaters, associated piping, electrical connections, valves, thermostats, and heating elements.
• - Diagnose and troubleshoot water heater problems such as:
  • No hot water.
  • Insufficient or inconsistent hot water.
  • Water leakage.
  • Electrical or wiring problems.
  • Faulty thermostat or heating element.
  • Pressure and temperature issues.
  • Unusual noise or overheating.
• - Perform repair and replacement of defective or damaged accounts.
• - Conduct preventive maintenance and routine servicing to ensure proper operation and extend equipment life.
• - Check water and electrical connections for leaks, damage, or other safety concerns.
• - Test repaired or newly installed equipment to ensure proper and safe operation.
• - Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts replaced, and maintenance activities.
• - Coordinate with supervisors, building personnel, contractors, or customers regarding equipement concerns, and required repairs.
• - Follow proper safety procedures, including electrical, plumbing, and equipment safety requirements.
• - Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts used for water heater installation and maintenance.
• - Respond promptly to service calls and equipment breakdwons.
• - Recommend appropiate repairs, replacement parts, or replacement of the entire unit when necessary.
• - Perform other related technical duties as assigned by the supervisor.
