Group Information Technology Group Department Retail Channel Application Unit Digital Applications Section BDO Online Team Reports To (Position Title of Immediate Supervisor) Application Owner Supervises (Position Titles of Direct Reports) N/A Job Mandate. The Technical Lead for our Digital Banking Applications will be a pivotal technical leader within our IT team, responsible for the technical vision, successful implementation, and operational excellence of our digital banking apps.

This role requires a seasoned professional who can balance hands‑on technical expertise with strategic thinking in ensuring our solutions are secure, scalable, and continuously optimized to deliver world‑class customer experience. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the core technologies used in modern digital banking platforms and the ability to work in a complex, fast‑paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert (SME) for our digital banking platform and its related components.

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Define and drive the technical roadmap and architecture, aligning with business goals and industry best practices.
• Provide guidance on the design and implementation of new features, integrations, and application updates, ensuring they meet non‑functional requirements like security, performance, and scalability.
• Lead and participate in technical deep‑dives, architectural reviews, and complex troubleshooting to resolve critical issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).

Project & Delivery Management

• Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of digital banking projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technical outcomes.
• Ensure the implementation of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, test automation, and robust DevOps processes.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as the primary technical liaison within internal and external partners
• Communicate complex technical concepts and project updates clearly and confidently to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including executives and business leaders.
• Coordinate with the Contracts and Vendor Manager and other relevant departments to ensure that vendor services, support, and contractual outputs are aligned with technical needs.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise software development and implementation, with at least 5 years in technical leadership or management role.
• Proven experience leading technical teams in a financial services or digital banking environment.
• Experience with the Back base Digital Banking Platform is a significant plus.
• Hands‑on experience with digital transformation projects in large financial institutions is a major advantage.

Skills

• Deep expertise in the technologies common to digital banking platforms, including:
• Build: Maven, Gradle.
• Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes & cloud deployment on platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for database queries, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• A solid understanding of Microservices Architecture and API integrations (REST/SOAP).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices for banking applications.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
