Job summary

GHD in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across all lifecycle stages, from development to commissioning.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal teams, guiding technical decisions, supporting proposals, and helping win work while mentoring engineers. The role follows a hybrid model with in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced studies/masters preferred
• Proven leadership experience in complex technical projects guiding multidisciplinary teams
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience with deep BESS expertise
• 70% technical delivery and 30% client-facing/business development exposure
• Ability to drive high-performance culture through leadership and knowledge sharing

What You’ll Do

• Lead the technical management and delivery of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), across all phases from development, technology selection, sizing and feasibility through to design, procurement, installation, commissioning and operations.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal GHD teams, bringing strong BESS expertise to guide technical decisions, demonstrate capability, and build confidence in project delivery.

• Support client-facing and work-winning activities by providing technical input to proposals, strengthening client relationships, identifying future project opportunities, and representing GHD’s capability in the BESS market.

• You may also contribute topower generation opportunitiesincluding wind, solar, substations, and transmission design.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
• Provide technical leadership and QA/QC oversight.
• Share knowledge and contribute to GHD’s global expertise.
  

What You Bring

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced studies/masters – to be given preference)

• Proven leadership experience in complex technical projects, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams, influence stakeholders, and support project outcomes at a senior level.

• Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with deep technical expertise in BESS projects. Experience in a consulting environment will be highly regarded.

• Strong technical capability in BESS is essential, with a target profile of 70% technical delivery and 30% client-facing, business development or work-winning exposure.

• Ability to drive a high-performance culture through effective leadership, mentoring, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
