Job summary

GHD is seeking Site Engineers for its Construction Phase Services Group to supervise the daily execution of civil works at and around construction sites, ensuring quality and timeliness. This hybrid role is based onsite with a three-day in-office schedule to foster collaboration and project progress.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and have at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
• Experience supervising piling operations and construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect daily piling operations on site.
• Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet project requirements.
• Witness and review pile testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate inspections and issue tracking (RFIs/NCRs).
• Monitor HSE compliance and escalate unsafe conditions.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and as-built documentation.
• Maintain site records and progress updates.
• Support handover with punch lists and O&M manuals.

Our Construction Phase Services Group is seeking for Site Engineers to supervise the daily execution of civil works at construction sites to meet quality and timeliness.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect daily piling operations on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant codes or standards.
• Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship related to piling (e.g., pile types, reinforcement, concrete, testing labels) meet project requirements before installation and at key milestones.
• Witness and review pile testing and commissioning activities (e.g., integrity testing, load testing), ensuring results are recorded and meet acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate inspections and hold points with contractors, consultants, and other disciplines; raise and track site issues, RFIs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) through to closure.
• Monitor HSE compliance related to piling works (e.g., safe working practices, equipment operation, temporary works, permits to work) and immediately elevate unsafe conditions.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built documentation for accuracy and constructability; confirm changes are properly approved and captured.
• Maintain site records: daily inspection logs, photo documentation, test reports, punch lists/snags, and progress updates aligned to project schedule and quality plan.
• Support handover by verifying completion of punch lists, O&M manuals, warranties, and training requirements, ensuring piling works are ready for client acceptance.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
