TECHNICAL BIDDING LEAD / STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Bid Head leads the technical and engineering side of Strongbond Philippines Inc.'s bid preparation process, from structural design and value engineering through to client-facing technical presentations. The role ensures every bid is technically sound, cost-optimized, and clearly communicated to clients, while safeguarding the accuracy and completeness of the technical documents submitted for each inquiry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Structural Design
- Lead structural design development for bid proposals, ensuring designs are safe, code-compliant (NSCP, DPWH, NBC), and aligned with project scope.
- Prepare and validate structural calculations, schemes, and design assumptions to support technical and commercial proposals.
- Assess project requirements and existing conditions to determine appropriate structural design approaches.
- Review and approve structural design outputs prepared by supporting engineers or designers prior to inclusion in proposals.
- Drive value engineering initiatives, identifying alternative materials, methods, and design approaches that reduce cost without compromising quality or structural integrity.
- Evaluate design and construction options to balance technical adequacy with cost-efficiency.
- Recommend cost‑saving measures and design alternatives for Management's review and client consideration.
C. Technical Presentation to Clients
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients, articulating design rationale, engineering solutions, and value propositions with confidence and clarity.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, consultants, and stakeholders during pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and clarification requests.
- Build and maintain strong technical credibility with key accounts and project owners.
D. Technical Document Review for Inquiries
- Review and evaluate technical documents (drawings, specifications, scope of work) for incoming project inquiries to assess feasibility, risks, and bid requirements.
- Identify ambiguities, risks, or scope gaps in inquiry documents and raise clarifications with clients or Management.
- Ensure all technical submissions comply with client requirements, applicable codes, and submission standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Education: BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in structural design and/or technical bidding within the construction industry, with proven experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Technical Skills Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD).
- Regulatory Knowledge Strong working knowledge of NSCP, DPWH standards, NBC, and local government building regulations.
- Soft Skills Excellent leadership, presentation, communication, and client‑facing skills; strong analytical thinking and attention to detail under bid deadlines.
- Licenses Valid PRC License as Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer required; ASEP membership or equivalent affiliation is an advantage.
