Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Technical Assistant Manager to join the Cash and Liquidity Management team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role focuses on supporting tactical and strategic agendas, delivering timely change tasks, and maintaining strong governance across Operations.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of Nostros Funding, Payments, FX, and MS Office, with exposure to CMS Systems and Global Markets processes, plus a background in banking operations and risk management.

Qualifications

• A degree in banking / financial / management / business administration / accounting exposure.
• Working knowledge of Global Markets processes and trade lifecycle.
• Experience with regulatory reporting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support tactical and strategic agenda for Cash Services activities, ensuring effective management of migrations/de-risking.
• Deliver change tasks on time with governance and communicated delivery dates.
• Provide ad-hoc project support for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
• Ensure coverage by managing and adjusting the team roster.
• Drive Emergency Escalation Plan for Operations Teams (BCP).
• Maintain internal control standards and address audit points and regulator issues.
• Adhere to Group Compliance policy and manage operational risk awareness.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Technical Assistant Manager – Cash and Liquidity Management.

In This Role, You Will

• Support where applicable, both tactical and strategic agenda for the Cash Services-managed activities, ensuring the effective management of inbound migrations/de-risking from Cash Services KL
• Deliver change tasks in a timely manner; ensure good governance and communication of change tasks and delivery date expectations within the control team and across the wider Operations
• Provide support for any ad-hoc project to the Head of Operations and Operations teams for any work involving collation, analysis, forecasting and budgeting relating to Operational data
• Ensure constant sufficient coverage for all processes by actively managing and adjusting the Team Roster
• Drive Emergency Escalation Plan for Operations Teams (BCP)
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators
• Conform to the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role
• Ensure awareness of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge

• A degree in banking / financial / management / business administration / accounting exposure
• A working knowledge of Global Markets processes and trade lifecycle
• A working knowledge of regulatory reporting would be advantageous

Experience

• Sound knowledge and understanding of the Nostros Funding process and CMS Systems
• Strong understanding of MI reports
• Ideally 2+ years tenure within an Investment Banking Operations environment, exposure to Cash Management, Cash Services Operations and/or FX Operations functions is essential

Skills

• Good knowledge and understanding of Nostros Funding Process, Payment and Foreign Exchange.
• Ideally 3+ years tenure within Global Banking and Market Operations environment or Payment.
• Possess knowledge on MS Office and with good numerical and analytical
• Abilty to manage good relationships across mutiple business lines and GBM Hubs
• Ability to problem solve, articulate requirements and implement change .
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Hitting Repeating Deadlines to a high standard – self disciplined and organised
• Attention to Detail, self audit of own work
• Escalation – ability to recognise when a task should be escalated and following through to ensure management are aware
• Resilience and Drive
• Able to deal with a very dynamic business where various factors will have an impact on work volumes, and how work is handled / processed. Nature of business is such that any error committed exposes the Group to risk of loss.
• Requires ability to creatively resolve issues arising on a day-to-day basis, with an overriding view of minimizing any loss arising.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
