Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and Documentation Support
- Assist PV Design Engineers in preparing design drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLDs) using AutoCAD or equivalent tools.
- Support the development and formatting of engineering deliverables, such as design reports, data sheets, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Update and maintain engineering document libraries, revision logs, and file control systems.
- Compile and organize site survey data, photos, and technical measurements for use in design and proposals.
- Ensure that design files are properly labeled, version‑controlled, and backed up in shared repositories (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive, or company servers).
- Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with Procurement, Construction, and Project Management teams to ensure alignment between design outputs and field requirements.
- Assist in reviewing supplier documentation, drawings, and technical submittals for compliance.
- Prepare presentation materials, technical summaries, and reports for internal and client meetings.
- Monitor progress of engineering deliverables and update project trackers as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Quality and Compliance
- Support adherence to engineering standards, company templates, and QA/QC procedures.
- Help ensure compliance with local codes, IEC standards, and client specifications through documentation checks.
- Assist in performing data checks and validation for design inputs and calculations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.
- Timeliness of deliverable submissions and revisions.
- Compliance with file naming, version control, and documentation standards.
- Responsiveness and support to engineers and project teams.
- Quality of technical assistance provided to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience in technical or engineering support roles, preferably in renewable energy, power, or construction industries.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and file management tools.
- Knowledge of solar PV system components and basic electrical or mechanical principles is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Skills: Experience with solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, PV*SOL) or electrical calculation tools (ETAP, DIALux) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with document control systems or engineering databases.
- Ability to work under supervision while handling multiple projects and deadlines.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn technical aspects of solar and hybrid system design.
