Job summary

Geronimo Law, a Makati-based full-service firm, seeks an Associate Lawyer to handle litigation, corporate matters, and regulatory filings. The role requires drafting pleadings, conducting research, and supporting due diligence for M&A and investments.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of law firm experience, a solid grounding in corporate and commercial law, and admission to the Philippine Bar or pending eligibility.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a law firm with exposure to litigation (criminal, civil, admin) and labor.
• Strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, including contracts, M&A, banking and finance, and securities regulation.
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal opinions, and preparing transaction documents and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to analyze complex structures for PPP, infrastructure, cross-border transactions, and investment deals.
• Interest or experience in technology, ICT, blockchain, fintech, and other emerging regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clear, concise, and structured legal writing.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Demonstrated client service mindset, professional integrity, and capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Law degree from an accredited institution and admission to the Philippine Bar (or eligibility and intent to take the Bar).
• Willingness to work on-site in Makati and commit to a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation, disputes, and adversarial proceedings including government enforcement actions.
• Draft and review contracts, transaction documents, and regulatory filings.
• Appear in hearings and attend meetings with clients, regulators, and witnesses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memoranda, and due diligence for deals.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and counterparties and assist in cross-border structuring.
