Job summary

Geronimo Law in Makati seeks an Associate Lawyer to handle litigation, disputes, and adversarial proceedings, with involvement in corporate and commercial matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, and regulatory filings. The role is on-site and full-time.

You will appear in hearings, conduct legal research, prepare opinions, support due diligence for M&A and investments, and contribute to cross-border deals, working under senior lawyers in a modern tech-enabled practice.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a law firm with exposure to litigation (criminal, civil, admin) and labor.
• Strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, including contracts, M&A, banking and finance, and securities regulation.
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal opinions, and preparing transaction documents and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to analyze complex structures for PPP, infrastructure, cross-border transactions, and investment deals.
• Interest or experience in technology, ICT, blockchain, fintech, and other emerging regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clear, concise, and structured legal writing.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Demonstrated client service mindset, professional integrity, and capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Law degree from an accredited institution and admission to the Philippine Bar (or eligibility and intent to take the Bar).
• Willingness to work on-site in Makati and commit to a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation, disputes, and adversarial proceedings, including government enforcement actions.
• Draft and review contracts, transaction documents, and regulatory filings.
• Appear in hearings and attend meetings with clients and government.
• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and regulators; conduct legal research and draft opinions.
• Support due diligence for M&A and investments; assist in structuring cross-border transactions.
