Job summary

Vestas Shared Service Center in Manila seeks a proven leader to head the Global AP Issue Resolution team within Accounts Payable, ensuring timely resolution of invoice issues and accurate AP closing. You will coach, empower and develop a team across time zones.

Collaborate with Finance, Procurement and external suppliers, drive automation, maintain process docs, and deliver compliant, efficient AP operations in a dynamic global environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy/ finance/ business management or related area.
  • With solid background in Finance Operations of Accounts Payable in SSC/GBS environments.
  • At least five years of leadership experience managing operations teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and execute actions for the function.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong service delivery.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AP Global AP Issue Resolution team, ensuring control, compliance, and timely delivery of operations.
  • Execute day-to-day AP processes including issue resolution (parked invoices, missing goods receipts, supplier disputes).
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and cascading trainings for all processors.
  • Promote automation and standardization across AP and leverage technology for efficiency.
  • Escalation management, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Procurement, and Suppliers.
  • Track KPIs and SLAs, report dashboards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

The purpose of the position is to lead the Global AP Issue Resolution team of Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring that invoices with issues are resolved in a timely manner to meet the payment due date. The leader will execute the day-to-day AP processes and quality controls, resolve operational issues and escalations, and ensure the quality and timeliness of AP financial closing activities.

The position requires a leader with experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations in similar GBS or Shared Service organizations. The role will be under the Finance team of Vestas Shared Service Center, which will support Vestas globally. The role is expected to collaborate closely with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers across different time zones and geographies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all Accounts Payable Issue Resolution processes, ensuring improved control, compliance, and delivery of operations.

AP Operational Responsibilities

  • Lead the Finance operations team of Accounts Payable (AP) Global AP Issue Resolution team. Empower, coach, develop, and engage people for better collaboration and performance output
  • Execute day-to-day AP processes, particularly AP issue resolution such as handling parked invoices, missing goods receiving, missing invoice copies, supplier disputes, etc., and ensure these are handled accurately, timely, and in accordance with controls requirements and global financial guidelines
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation, and process refresher trainings are cascaded in a timely manner for all processors involved
  • Promote automation and process standardization across AP teams. Leverage technology to improve processes and drive automation

Service Management Responsibilities

  • Responsible for escalation management and resolution. Resolve operational daily issues and escalations. Ensure timely response to emails, queries, or tickets assigned with proper root cause and actions in place to mitigate risks and recurring escalations
  • Promote collaboration across Finance Teams, Procurement, External Suppliers, Digital Solutions, and other Procure to Pay groups to improve process, to be more efficient, and to improve user experience
  • Own the performance of the Accounts Payable Issue Resolution team, ensure dashboards are correctly reported, and root cause and actions are regularly reviewed and discussed to improve team performance. Facilitate service management meetings within Finance SSC
  • Identify customer needs and pain points in AP. Evaluate customer satisfaction and performance delivery received either through surveys, month-end reviews, or stakeholder feedback

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead discussions with key stakeholders like Procurement, Transport, Digital Solutions, P&C, External Suppliers, etc, to turn insights into actions and make important decisions
  • Responsible for identifying cost-saving and efficiency improvement opportunities within the AP teams

Leadership and Development

  • Track and report employee development and performance management through the monitoring of team and individual KPIs and SLAs, determination of the team's development requirements, etc.
  • Ensure effective people management and development of the team, including staffing and selection, integration of new staff into the teams, provision of feedback, and management of people issues, development of a positive team culture focused on business understanding of the work performed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy/ finance/ business management or related area. Certifications (i.e. CPA, CMA, MBA, CIA, RCA, CTT, etc.) are beneficial
  • With a solid background in Finance Operations of Accounts Payable, from similar Shared Service or GBS industries
  • With at least five years of leadership experience in handling operations teams
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and execute actions for the function
  • Prioritizes customer focus and a clear service delivery mindset
  • Establish effective working relationships within the team and stakeholders, and have the ability to say no, especially to process deviations and non-adherence
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply knowledge to day-to-day operations
  • An effective communicator or a storyteller. Ability to translate numbers into business insights and help stakeholders make decisions
  • High degree of flexibility to adjust to varying time zones and possible changes in scope
  • Problem-solving skills and creative thinking to support the standardization, efficiency, and digitization agenda
  • Leadership behaviours that would match Vestas' values of simplicity, accountability, passion and collaboration
  • Change management experience, who can implement changes within the organization. Continuous improvement background or Lean Six Sigma skills
  • Effective stakeholder management and the ability to guide decisions with insights
  • Takes initiative and is highly motivated; able to perform in a complex, demanding and busy environment
