Job summary

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. in Pasig City seeks a Senior Tax Specialist to lead taxation, compliance, and advisory functions. This role oversees BIR and LGU registrations, reviews tax returns, financial statements, and registration matters, ensuring timely filings.

You will manage BIR audits, respond to assessments, and plan tax strategies while collaborating with internal teams and auditors. CPA preferred but not required; strong MS Office and regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of working experience in Taxation.
• At least 1 year of being a team leader or people manager.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• A degree in Accountancy, Business, and Financial Management is required.
• Proficiency with SAP accounting system is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required.
• Experience in compliance with different regulatory and government agencies.
• Effective communicator - verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Tax filing, accounting, and regulatory compliance: review tax returns and attachments; oversee BIR and LGU registrations; review financial statements; oversee registrations, wind-downs, and retirements as needed.
• Tax audit and advisory: manage BIR audits, respond to assessments, provide timely tax advice, and drive process improvements for full compliance.
• Tax planning and strategies: identify tax risks and savings opportunities; liaise with internal and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax filing, accounting, and regulatory compliance

• Reviews tax returns and related tax attachments
• Oversees the renewal of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Local Government Units (LGU) registrations
• Reviews the financial statements and other requirements and oversees the submission thereof
• Oversees registration of new companies, winding down, and retirement of businesses, as needed

Tax audit and advisory

• Resolution and management of BIR audits, assessments, and notices
• Proactively plans compliant tax reporting and leads effective response to BIR assessments
• Provides a timely response to any tax queries related to business transactions
• Provides tax advice and implements applicable tax issuances and rulings
• Implements process improvement measures in ensuring full tax compliance, while still taking into consideration opportunities for value creation
• Financial statement analysis and tax advisory
• Maps, orchestrates, and develops the company’s posture towards local business taxes, real property taxes, and franchise taxes

Tax planning and strategies

• Determines the tax risks and exposures and recommends corrective measures
• Identifies tax savings and suggests ways to increase profits
• Liaise with internal and external auditors

Qualifications:
