Job description
Responsibilities
Ensures timely filing and payment of all corporate monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and supporting schedules which includes, among others, Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax, Final Tax, DST, and other tax returns that arise during the course of business.
Handles application and renewal of business permits and monitors real property taxes.
Ensures compliance of all business units to BIRs tax mapping requirements.
Timely issuance of Certificates of Tax Withheld (Form 2307)
Provides assistance in the handling of BIR examinations and other special projects (e.g. tax planning, claim for refund and tax due diligence projects).
Responsible for the response on BIR letter of notices and findings.
Review tax accounts and proposes entries necessary to correct balances of tax accounts.
Reviews tax provisions in contracts and if these are appropriate for the transaction being entered into by the Company.
Liaise with the government agencies, consultants, lawyers on tax related issues.
Deal with both external auditors and internal auditors and ensure resolution of audit issues
Maintain master data in the financial system, as assigned
Coordinate with Corporate Secretary and Company Lawyer to ensure that transactions are supported by corporate and legal documents
Recommend, implement, and maintain process improvements
Observe and comply with existing company codes, policies, agreements, rules, and regulations
Additional duties as directed by immediate manager
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Must be a graduate of BS Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant
At least 5 years work experience in financial accounting and payables function or at least 3 years external audit experience
Real estate and leasing industry experience preferred
