Job summary

Onward Worldwide Management & Consultancy is seeking a Tax Specialist to join our growing team in Makati City, Metro Manila. The role delivers high-quality taxation services, develops tax strategies, ensures compliance with Philippine tax regulations, and guides clients through complex tax matters.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accountancy or Finance, a CPA or PICPA membership, 3–5 years in tax, strong knowledge of local tax laws, and proficiency with tax software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance
• CPA or PICPA membership
• 3–5 years' experience in tax preparation, tax compliance, or tax advisory work
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax legislation (income tax, corporate tax, VAT)
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting systems
• Excellent analytical and research skills to interpret complex tax regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tax work
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Filipino
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional demeanour and client relationship skills
• Preferred: experience with international tax, transfer pricing, or specialised tax areas (real estate, import-export)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns including income tax, VAT, and other filings for individuals and corporate entities
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify savings opportunities and ensure compliance
• Develop tailored tax strategies and recommendations for clients to optimise tax positions
• Advise clients on tax implications of business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings
• Maintain detailed tax documentation and timely filing of returns and schedules
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate updates to clients
• Liaise with tax authorities and represent clients in audits and disputes where appropriate
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver taxation services
• Prepare tax-related correspondence and technical memoranda for clients and internal stakeholders
