Job summary

Red Planet Hotels Limited in Makati seeks a skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join the Finance & Accounting team. The role reports to the Senior Director of Finance and Accounting and focuses on ensuring full regulatory tax compliance for Philippines operations.

You will coordinate with auditors and tax consultants, negotiate with authorities, and monitor payroll-related tax deductions while advising on tax impacts of corporate strategies. Fluency in English/Filipino is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; CPA preferable
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the same field
• Experience in BIR reportorial and deadlines
• Proficient in MS Office and any Accounting Software
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English/Filipino

Job description

• The successful candidate shall report to the Senior Director of Finance and Accounting.
• Will support the Finance & Accounting Department's compliance efforts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and government regulations.
• Reviews and evaluates compliance with all tax-related transactions and processes, ensuring 100% achievement of tax compliance for Philippines operations.
• Coordinate with and provide the requirements of tax auditors/tax consultants for ongoing tax audits or other tax-related work.
• Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
• Identify areas of tax risks/exposures and areas for tax savings.
• Perform research, analysis, and interpretation of current tax laws.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to BIR, corporate tax, and other relevant tax filings.
• Assist with tax compliance deadlines, extensions, and audits.
• Coordinates and monitors Compensation & Benefits on the accuracy of tax deductions, and ensures that the company is in compliance with the payroll tax rules.
• Close coordination with payroll during the finalization of the Year-End Alpha listings.
• Responsible for the registration and accreditation of all company accounting systems.
• Advise management regarding the tax impact of corporate strategies and new laws on tax liabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; preferably a Certified Public Accountant. (but not required)
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the same field.
• Experience in BIR reportorial and corresponding deadlines.
• Must be proficient in MS Office applications and any Accounting Software.
• Strong problem-solving, highly analytical, and good interpersonal skills.
• Results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Required language: English / Filipino
