Job summary

SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORP Philippines is seeking a Finance Officer (Tax) in the Accounting and Tax Unit to support tax compliance, reporting, and advisory functions by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns and regulatory submissions.

You will monitor tax obligations, assist in tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements, and coordinate with internal stakeholders for audits, regulatory examinations, and tax filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy is required.
• 2+ years of relevant taxation or accounting experience.
• CPA designation is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation and BIR regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file tax returns, tax computations, and schedules.
• Monitor tax obligations and ensure timely payment/remittance of taxes.
• Prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements.
• Review transactions for proper tax treatment and compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for tax filings, audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Support responses to inquiries from tax authorities and regulators.
• Maintain organized tax records and documentation.
