Job summary

Joy Nostalg Hotel is seeking a qualified Tax Accountant to manage corporate tax compliance, reporting, and related duties. The role requires CPA status and a BS Accountancy, with at least five years in tax and accounting within a real estate or leasing context.

You will handle tax returns, VAT, WHT, and confirmations, while coordinating with BIR and external consultants. Strong Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS Accountancy and CPA certification required.
• At least 5 years of work experience in financial accounting, tax reporting and compliance.
• Real estate and leasing industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; accuracy and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely filing and payment of corporate tax returns and schedules (VAT, WHT, final tax, DST).
• Handles permits renewal and real property tax matters; ensures tax mapping compliance.
• Issues Certificates of Tax Withheld (Form 2307) timely.
• Responds to tax queries from customers, suppliers, and staff.
• Assists in BIR examinations, refunds, and due diligence projects.
• Reviews tax provisions in contracts and liaises with government agencies on tax issues.

Job Description:

• Ensures timely filing and payment of all corporate monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and supporting schedules which include, among others, Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax, Final Tax, DST, and other tax returns that arise during the course of business
• Handles application and renewal of business permits and monitors real property taxes
• Ensures compliance of all business units to BIR’s tax mapping requirements
• Timely issuance of Certificates of Tax Withheld (Form 2307)
• Handles tax queries from customers, suppliers, internal personnel regarding tax treatments.
• Provides assistance in the handling of BIR examinations and other special projects (e.g. tax planning, claim for refund, and tax due diligence projects)
• Responsible for the response to BIR letter of notices and findings
• Reviews tax accounts and proposes entries necessary to correct balances of tax accounts
• Reviews tax provisions in contracts and if these are appropriate for the transaction being entered into by the Company
• Liaise with the government agencies, consultants, lawyers on tax-related issues

Job Qualifications:

• Must a graduate of BS Accountancy
• Certified Public Accountant
• At least 5 years of work experience in financial accounting, tax reporting, auditing, and compliance management
• Real estate and leasing industry experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Offices (Excel and Word)
• Accuracy and attention to details
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Excellent analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Flexible to work hours in order to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
