Job summary

TAPA KING INC in Pasig City, Metro Manila, is seeking a dedicated Tax and Compliance Assistant to join our accounting and taxation team. This full-time role provides essential support in preparing, filing, and managing tax-related documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial records.

You will work closely with senior tax professionals, handle VAT and income tax returns, monitor regulatory changes, assist in payroll tax processing, and maintain orderly filing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial and tax documentation.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Filipino.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Understanding of bookkeeping principles and general accounting practices.
• Familiarity with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a taxation, accounting, or finance role is preferred.
• Certification in taxation or accounting courses would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, VAT, and other statutory obligations.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation in accordance with Philippine regulations and company policies.
• Support the reconciliation of tax accounts and review tax calculations for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure the company remains compliant with current laws.
• Prepare correspondence with tax authorities and maintain communication records.
• Assist in compiling financial data and supporting documentation for tax audits and regulatory reviews.
• Support payroll tax processing, including withholding taxes and benefits contributions.
• Maintain organised filing systems for all tax and compliance-related documents.
• Provide administrative support to the tax and compliance team as needed.
• Assist in identifying potential tax-saving opportunities and cost-reduction strategies.
