You will work with Finance, Accounting, and Regulatory Teams to ensure compliance, handle VAT and withholding taxes, and assist in tax audits. On-site role based in Banawe, Quezon City.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA board eligibility or strong background in taxation is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with BIR tax reporting, audit procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, local govt taxes).
  • Ensure timely and accurate remittance of tax payments.
  • Reconcile tax obligations with financial records.
  • Document tax records for audit and compliance.
  • Perform tax reconciliations with statements and bank records.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for BIR assessments.
  • Address discrepancies and respond to inquiries from authorities and auditors.
  • Monitor tax law updates and recommend adjustments.
  • Support implementation of tax compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized filing system for tax documents.

Job description

The Tax Associate is responsible for assisting in the preparation, filing, and reconciliation of tax related obligations to ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations. The role involves accurate computation, timely submission of tax returns, and proper documentation of tax records. The position also supports tax audits and regulatory compliance efforts while working closely with Finance, Accounting, and Regulatory Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and local government taxes) in compliance with BIR regulations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate remittance of tax payments to avoid penalties and late charges.
  • Assist in the review and reconciliation of tax obligations against financial records.
  • Ensure proper documentation and safekeeping of tax-related files for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Perform tax reconciliations by verifying tax payables with financial statements and bank records.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents for tax audits and BIR assessments.
  • Address discrepancies and provide solutions for any tax-related issues identified during audits.
  • Respond to inquiries from tax authorities, external auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding tax compliance matters.
  • Monitor updates on tax laws, rulings, and compliance requirements, and provide recommendations for adjustments.
  • Support the implementation of tax compliance policies and procedures within the organization.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for tax-related documents, permits, and government correspondence.
  • Identify areas for process improvement in tax compliance and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax-saving initiatives while ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency in tax documentation and record-keeping.
Job Qualifications
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferably with CPA board eligibility or a strong background in taxation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, or financial reporting. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with BIR tax reporting, audit procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time in Banawe, Quezon City.
