Job summary

Paramount Life & General Insurance Corporation seeks a Tax & Compliance Assistant Manager to oversee our tax and regulatory compliance function. You will lead the Controllership Team within the Medical Division (Pacific Cross) and ensure timely, accurate submissions to BIR, IC, SEC, and LGUs.

You will work with regulators, external auditors, and internal stakeholders to continually improve compliance processes while coordinating year-end audits and financial statement preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy with CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in tax, accounting, or regulatory compliance; 3+ years in supervision.
• Strong experience in tax compliance, financial statements, and regulatory reporting.

Job description

We're looking for a Tax & Compliance Assistant Manager to help lead our tax and regulatory compliance function.

• Deployment: Controllership Team | Medical Division (Pacific Cross)
• Work Location & Schedule: Rockwell, Makati City | Mon to Fri - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Your Role:

In this role, you'll oversee a team that handles tax and regulatory compliance, support the preparation and review of financial statements, and coordinate external audits.

You'll also work closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory bodies to ensure the company remains fully compliant while continuously improving our compliance processes.

• Ensure tax returns and regulatory reports are submitted accurately and on time to the BIR, Insurance Commission (IC), SEC, and local government units.
• Lead and support the Tax & Compliance Analyst, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review tax and compliance work to ensure it meets regulatory requirements.
• Prepare regular updates and reports on the company's tax and compliance status.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and coordinate year-end audits.
• Identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions to address them.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulatory requirements and ensure the company remains compliant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; CPA is highly preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in tax, accounting, or regulatory compliance, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong experience in tax compliance, financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with regulators, auditors, consultants, and senior management.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Hands‑on experience dealing with government agencies, including the BIR, SEC, Insurance Commission, and LGUs.
• At least 1 year of experience in the insurance industry.
• Willing to visit government offices as needed and render overtime during peak reporting and audit periods.
