Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Tax and Compliance Supervisor to lead tax compliance, VAT recovery, and regulatory reporting efforts. You will collaborate with the Controller, Tax and Compliance Manager, and regulatory bodies to deliver results and contribute to energy transformation in the Philippines.

The role emphasizes strong analytical and leadership skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work under tight schedules while ensuring accuracy across tax filings and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy required.
• Five or more years of related tax compliance experience.
• Minimum two years of leadership experience.
• CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (EWT, VAT, Withholding taxes, Income tax, etc.).
• Manage statutory reporting and administrative/judicial filings with the BIR, SEC, BOI, ERC, and others.
• Handle BIR audits, inquiries, court cases, and VAT refund claims processing and recovery.
• Coordinate with internal teams to evaluate tax impacts on contracts and transactions and provide guidance on new tax regulations.

Job description

As Tax and Compliance Supervisor, you will lead tax compliance, VAT recovery, and regulatory reporting efforts and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Controller, Tax and Compliance Manager, internal business units, and regulatory bodies to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (EWT, VAT, Withholding taxes, Income tax, etc.) and ensure timely remittance and accuracy of computations.
• Manage statutory reporting and administrative/judicial filings with the BIR, SEC, BOI, ERC, and other regulatory authorities.
• Handle BIR audits, inquiries, court cases, and the processing, monitoring, and recovery of administrative and judicial VAT refund claims.
• Coordinate with internal team leaders to evaluate tax impacts on contracts and purchase/sale transactions, and provide timely guidance on new tax regulations.

• Maintains strict confidentiality over proprietary financial documents, practices, and operational information.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
• At least five (5) years of related work experience with extensive knowledge in tax compliance and tax planning.
• Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Deep knowledge of BIR tax audits, tax filing systems, VAT claims/refund procedures, and Tax Credit Certificate (TCC) processing.
• Proficiency in tax planning, financial forecasting, and regulatory reporting (BIR, SEC, BOI, ERC).
• Strong proficiency in standard computer applications and tax management software.
