Job summary

Sourcedpeople seeks a Tax Accounting Lead-AU to join a high-performing team. You will reconcile and prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies, bringing at least five years of Australian tax firm experience.

You will mentor junior staff and lead tax reviews across entities. The role requires strong knowledge of Division 7A, FBT, CGT, superannuation and payroll tax, with hands-on experience using Xero and related tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience with an Australian tax firm.
• Experience reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
• Strong knowledge of Division 7A, FBT, CGT, superannuation, payroll tax and other Australian tax matters.
• Experience using Xero and related practice management tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review the work of junior and intermediate accountants, providing guidance to ensure quality standards.
• Take ownership of reviewing tax jobs including individual returns, partnerships, trusts and companies.
• Review and finalise Business Activity Statements.
• Train and mentor junior staff to support their development.
• Prepare client emails and professional correspondence.
• Review and finalize complex tax jobs for larger client groups.
• Ensure tax work complies with Australian tax requirements across entities.
• Demonstrate expertise across relevant Australian tax matters to guide juniors.
