Job summary

Far East Industrial Supply & Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Tank/Mechanical Fitter to perform fitting, alignment, and installation of tank components and related piping.

You will read fabrication and isometric drawings, interpret layout plans, and prepare pipes, plates, and supports for installation. You will ensure proper alignment and fit-up of tank and piping systems, assist welders during fit-up, and verify joint preparation before welding.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Tank Fitter or Mechanical Fitter.
• Read and interpret fabrication and isometric drawings and measurements.
• Capable of reading layouts and preparing materials for installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, alignment, assembly, and installation of tank components and related piping.
• Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, layout plans, and dimensions.
• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare pipes, plates, supports, and other materials for installation.
• Perform proper alignment and fit-up of tank, piping, structural supports, flanges, valves, and other components.
• Assist welders during pipe and structural fit-up and ensure proper joint preparation before welding.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fitting equipment safely and properly.
• Check dimensions, levels, alignment, elevation, and orientation of components before final installation.
• Coordinate with welders, gas cutters, riggers, helpers, and supervisors to ensure smooth progress of work.
• Ensure that all work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Follow site safety procedures, including proper PPE, toolbox meetings, JSA/JHA, work permits, and other safety requirements.

About the role

About you

• Experience as a Tank Fitter, or Mechanical Fitter
• Knowledgeable in tank fit-up, alignment, leveling, and installation
• Able to read and understand basic isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and measurements
• Knowledgeable in the proper use of hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and fitting equipment
• Can work effectively with welders, gas cutters, riggers, and other construction personnel
• Capable of performing heavy/manual work

• Safety-conscious, hardworking, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Willing to undergo project-site orientation, safety training, and medical examination
• TESDA/NC certification or relevant trade certification is an advantage
