Job summary

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) in Metro Manila seeks a System Administrator to install, configure, maintain and support computer systems, servers, networks and related infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable operation.

You will monitor performance, back up data, implement disaster recovery plans, enforce security measures, and collaborate with the IT team to evaluate new technologies while keeping documentation up to date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Certification in Microsoft, Cisco, or similar technologies is a plus.
• At least 2 years of working experience as a Technical Support Lead or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, server hardware, network devices, and other infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure overall stability and reliability of the systems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to systems and network resources.
• Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform regular data backups and develop disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss.
• Collaborate with the IT team to evaluate and implement new technologies, software, and hardware solutions to improve system efficiency and performance.
• Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and proactively address security risks.
• Respond to and resolve user inquiries, provide technical support, and assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and efficient procurement of IT equipment.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration.
• Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor and/or management.
