World Vision in the Southern Leyte area is seeking a Support Staff to provide technical and operational support for sponsorship activities and data management. The role focuses on quality, accuracy, and timely handling of sponsorship records in line with partnership standards.

The position is a one-year fixed-term assignment based in Southern Leyte, requiring field visits and close collaboration with local communities and stakeholders to maximize transformational impact for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in program or project management, preferably in NGO or development organization.
  • Excellent communication, networking, alliance-building, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively use digital tools for program management, documentation, and data management.
  • Willingness to live in or near the barangay/primary area of implementation to engage with communities.
  • Willingness and capacity to undertake regular fieldwork and community visits.
  • Proficient in Cebuano and Tagalog, with ability to communicate with children and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support in preparing and educating families on sponsorship processes and requirements.
  • Coaches and supports community-based child monitoring mechanisms through meetings and follow-ups.
  • Manages sponsorship-related correspondence and ensures compliance with sponsorship standards.
  • Maintains documentation packages for new growth and ensures CUPs and CUVs are uploaded.
  • Assists in preparing APR and Christmas/Greeting Cards and maintains sponsor records in SSUI (HOPE).
  • Supports ongoing sponsorship education activities for registered and vulnerable children and communities.
  • Collaborates with community monitors to develop strategies for sponsorship management and child monitoring.
  • Performs other sponsorship-related support functions as assigned.

Job description

The Support Staff represents WVDF in the Area Development Program in Southern Leyte, providing technical and operational support to the team to maximize transformational impact among children, families, and communities in ADP-covered areas. The role ensures the quality, accuracy, and timely management of data and sponsorship records in accordance with partnership sponsorship standards and requirements.

This is a one-year, fixed-term position based in Southern Leyte.

Major Responsibilities
  • Provides support in preparing and educating families and communities on sponsorship processes, expectations, and requirements.
  • Provides coaching and technical support to establish and strengthen community-based child monitoring mechanisms through regular meetings, follow-ups, and integration of sponsorship requirements and standards.
  • Manages sponsorship-related correspondence, including Introduction Letters (IL), Exit Letters (EL), Special Letters (SL), Gifts and Letters (GAL), and queries, ensuring compliance with partnership sponsorship standards.
  • Manages and ensures the completeness of documentation packages for new growth, including Child Health (CH), Child Growth and Participation (CGP), Child and/or Community Growth Visits (CGVs), and Exit Letters (EL).
  • Facilitates processes related to the preparation of the Annual Progress Report (APR) and Christmas/Greeting Cards, including ensuring that all registered children have updated Child Update Profiles (CUPs) uploaded in SSUI (HOPE) and updated Child Update Videos (CUVs) for international Area Programs (APs).
  • Provides support to the AP team in implementing ongoing and creative sponsorship education activities for registered children, other vulnerable children, and communities.
  • Collaborates with community child monitors to develop and strengthen strategies for effective sponsorship management and child monitoring. Provides support to the team in capturing, organizing, uploading, and translating community videos and other sponsorship-related materials.
  • Performs other sponsorship-related support functions as may be assigned to contribute to the effective implementation of the Area Development Program.

  • At least two years of relevant experience in program or project management, preferably in an NGO or development organization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively use digital tools and technology for program management, documentation, and data management.
  • Willingness to live in or near the barangay/primary area of implementation to ensure regular engagement with communities.
  • Willingness and physical capacity to undertake regular fieldwork and community visits in the covered communities of Liloan and San Francisco, Southern Leyte, including walking long distances when necessary.
  • Proficient in Cebuano and Tagalog, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, community members, and local stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, teamwork, and commitment to working in community-based settings.
