About the role
The Supply Chain Associate is responsible for leading and guiding all Supplier Chain activities for new client implementations and expansions of existing regional and or global accounts. Oversee the complete implementation, including the design, execution and closeout while ensuring the proper handoff to the Supplier Operations Center of Excellence Team to ensure planned results are achieved on time, within scope and budget to maximize supplier advocacy. The Supply Chain Associate ensures that Supply Chain processes are efficient and support Pontoon's objectives, and that all materials used across teams are up-to-date, relevant, and consistent with the Global Supply Chain Strategy, while taking regional distinctions into account. Additionally, the position leads projects and initiatives related to Supply Chain priorities, assumes accountability for regional deliverables, ensures alignment with global strategies, facilitates the sharing of best practices, and maintains effective communication with regional counterparts and the entire Supplier Partnership team. A crucial responsibility of this role is to maintain a direct connection, ongoing dialogue between the Supplier Operations Centre of Excellence and the Supply Chain Management function. The Supply Chain Associate will provide consistent supplier approach to program teams and the supply chain in order to effectively manage and optimize the programs. The role will deliver high-quality, innovative and cost-effective methodologies to support our clients while taking into consideration the engagement/performance of suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use data, statistics and industry benchmarking and business experiences to make recommendations to optimize the supply chain and strategy
- Develop and partner with Pontoon program management teams to conduct program supplier summits or forums
- Maintain a proactive understanding of supplier business practices, competencies, innovation, growth potential, compliance status, and any issues of non-adherence, thereby adding transparency and strategic value to regional supply chain initiatives.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and supplier management methodologies to drive continuous improvements in the global and regional supplier partnership strategy.
- Deploy Rules of Engagement to minimize risk, ensure compliance, and nurture authentic partnerships.
- Ensure successful initiation and ongoing progress of the Supply Chain Management workstream to achieve all deliverables, supporting seamless new client implementations and existing program changes—including contractual updates, geographic expansions, and service enhancements—without adverse impact on timelines.
- Foster strong working relationships with key team members and stakeholders through consistent communication and regular updates.
- Demonstrate a collaborative and supportive attitude within the team environment, engaging constructively with both managers and junior team members.
