Qualifications

• College level or equivalent with a vocational/technical certificate.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician or related field.
• Knowledge of general electrical maintenance processes and methods.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Inspect and maintain electrical systems and lighting, report concerns to Maintenance Supervisor, recommend corrective actions.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Respond to maintenance concerns, diagnose and repair wiring, LED strips, power supplies, switches and outlets; escalate complex issues.
• Asset Management & Upkeep: Maintain fixtures, inspect assets, keep records of repairs and recurring issues, store tools and parts properly.

Job description

The Electrician is responsible for keeping the organization's electrical systems, lighting, and related fixtures in safe, functional condition across stores and offices.

Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and infrastructure to identify potential issues

• Perform regular checks and maintenance of electrical systems and lighting fixtures

• Inspect electrical systems and identify damaged wiring, faulty connections, and other potential hazards

• Replace busted LED strip lights, downlights, power supplies, and other electrical components as required

• Maintain accurate records of completed preventive maintenance and report concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor

• Recommend corrective actions when potential safety or electrical issues are identified

Troubleshooting & Repair

• Respond promptly to electrical maintenance concerns, including emergencies

• Diagnose and perform electrical repairs within established technical capabilities

• Repair or replace damaged wiring, LED strip lights, downlights, power supplies, switches, outlets, and other electrical components

• Identify and correct potential electrical safety hazards

• Conduct post-repair checks to ensure electrical systems are safe and operational

• Escalate complex electrical issues to the Maintenance Supervisor

• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized electrical work as instructed

Asset Management & Upkeep

• Maintain the aesthetic, cleanliness, and functionality of electrical fixtures and components

• Conduct regular inspections to identify damaged or deteriorating electrical assets

• Perform electrical maintenance and repairs at Headquarters

• Maintain proper records of electrical repairs and recurring issues

• Properly use, maintain, and store electrical tools, spare parts, and materials

• Report damaged, missing, or defective electrical tools/equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor
