Job summary

AFRY's Manila-based team is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (GIS) to design substations for power plant, distribution, and transmission projects in local and international settings. You will work on HV networks (60 kV and above) with LV/SCADA interfaces, contributing to renewable connections and robustness of the grid.

Ideal candidates hold a Registered Electrical Engineer credential, strong GIS and electrical design proficiency, and good English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer with HV substation design experience.
• Experience with GIS, 60kV+ substations and protection schemes.
• English language skills; German language would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design substations for power plant, distribution, or transmission projects in local or international environments.
• Collaborate with utilities, EPCs, and renewable project teams.
• Apply knowledge of global and Philippine standards and codes.
• Develop 2D/3D drawings and layouts using GIS, AutoCAD and Revit.

Substation Design Engineer (GIS)

Job Description & Requirements

• Design substations for power plant projects, distribution projects, or Transmission projects, in a local or international environment.
• Minimum 2-5 years experience working with Power Utilities, Transmission and Distribution companies or Renewable connection projects to investors within the Solar and Wind industry.
• Extensive experience in electrical networks and substations at 60KV level and above. This includes both overhead and underground networks and interconnection Facilities.
• Strong knowledge of substation high voltage plant and equipment including LV equipment, Switchyard, Busbar configurations.
• Strong knowledge of GIS Substation busbar configuration and layouts and protection
• Knowledge of relevant Philippines and International standards and codes, industry guidelines and current industry practices.
• Experience and knowledge in the Low Voltage equipment within the substation, SCADA, Secondary equipment protections, LV to HV interface.
• Experience with NGCP protocols and requirements is an advantage. Experience of European protocols is an advantage.
• Experience with SEE Electrical, Autocad 2D/3D, Revit is an advantage.

Qualifications
