Job summary

ACCIONA Construction is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to be based in the Philippines. The role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of all subcontract packages, from procurement and award through to final account close-out, ensuring alignment with main contract requirements and project risks.

It involves negotiating terms, monitoring performance, managing variations and payments, and coordinating with commercial and project controls.

Qualifications

• Total of 10 years of experience in construction.
• At least 5 years in a similar Subcontracts Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of subcontracting and contract administration.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional English with leadership and team management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in multicultural environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subcontract packages including scope, specs, drawings and terms.
• Negotiate subcontract terms, pricing and scope alignment.
• Ensure subcontract agreements align with main contract obligations.
• Administer subcontract agreements from award to close-out.
• Monitor performance against scope, schedule, quality and safety.
• Manage variations, claims, instructions and contractual correspondence.
• Certify interim payments in coordination with QS and project controls.

The role will be key to ensuring the proper management, administration and coordination of project subcontracts, in line with contractual requirements, project needs, budget, schedule, quality standards and operational requirements.

Job Description

The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of all subcontract packages, from procurement and award through to final account close-out. The role involves negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring subcontract agreements align with the main contract requirements and project risk profile. Once awarded, the Subcontracts Manager administers contracts by monitoring performance, progress, cost, quality, and safety compliance, while managing variations, claims, payments, and contractual correspondence.

Reports To: Commercial and Contracts Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare subcontract packages including scope of works, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.
• Negotiate subcontract terms, pricing, scope alignment, and contractual conditions.
• Ensure subcontract agreements align with main contract obligations and project risk profile.
• Administer all subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against scope, programme, quality, and safety requirements.
• Manage subcontract variations, claims, instructions, and contractual correspondence.
• Certify subcontractor interim payments in coordination with quantity surveyors and project controls.
• Ensure compliance with subcontract terms, conditions, and reporting requirements.
