Qualifications

• Total experience: 10+ years in construction or related fields.
• Experience in a similar Subcontracts Manager role: 5+ years.
• Strong knowledge of construction subcontracting and contract administration.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent (required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare subcontract packages with scope of works, specs, drawings, and contractual requirements.
• Negotiate subcontract terms, pricing, scope alignment, and conditions.
• Ensure subcontract agreements align with main contract obligations and risk profile.
• Administer all subcontract agreements throughout project lifecycle.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against scope, programme, quality and safety requirements.
• Manage subcontract variations, claims, instructions, and contractual correspondence.
• Certify subcontractor interim payments with quantity surveyors and project controls.

Job Description

The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of all subcontract packages, from procurement and award through to final account close-out. The role involves negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring subcontract agreements align with the main contract requirements and project risk profile. Once awarded, the Subcontracts Manager administers contracts by monitoring performance, progress, cost, quality, and safety compliance, while managing variations, claims, payments, and contractual correspondence.
