Job summary

PELOZDEN RSS INC. is seeking a hands‑on estimator for steel fabrication projects. You will review plans, perform accurate material take-offs, and calculate labour requirements across fabrication, welding, and site erection.

The role involves drafting cost estimates and liaising with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to support tender negotiations. The position offers varied project work across commercial and industrial sectors, with close collaboration to management and site teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection processes, and shop/worksite workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, civil and shop drawings.
• Accurate material take-off skills with strong numerical, analytical and commercial judgement.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with estimating templates and costing tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Trade qualification in fabrication/engineering will be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 5131 and relevant Australian standards will be highly regarded.
• Experience using estimating software and ERP/job costing is required.

• Liaise with clients, builders, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify scope and support tender negotiations.
• Assist with variation pricing, post-tender reviews, handover information and cost support for awarded projects.

• Trade qualification in fabrication, boiler making, welding, steel detailing, construction or engineering will be highly regarded.

• Knowledge of AS/NZS 5131 and relevant Australian standards will be highly regarded.

• Experience using estimating software, steel detailing outputs, project management systems, supplier portals or ERP/job costing systems is required.
