Job summary

SM Retail, Inc. - Corporate seeks an experienced Merchandising Manager (Buyer) to lead buying and merchandising strategies that optimize sales and inventory. You will analyze trends, negotiate with suppliers, plan assortments, and drive promotions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing, 6–10 years in retail merchandising, strong Excel skills, and leadership with excellent communication. Knowledge of Chinese is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising, buying, or category management.
• Strong experience in merchandising strategy and supplier/vendor management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Chinese language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop merchandising and buying strategies aligned with business goals.
• Analyze sales, customer demand, and market trends to guide buying decisions.
• Lead product selection, sourcing, pricing, and supplier negotiations.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
• Optimize inventory and minimize shortages, excess, and obsolete stocks.
• Plan and execute promotions to drive sales.
• Develop visual merchandising strategies based on store and sales performance.
• Monitor sales and market trends and identify growth opportunities.
