Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Planning Manager to lead strategic planning across its global network. The role focuses on demand and supply planning, inventory optimization, and S&OP processes to improve service levels and cost performance.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years in supply chain planning, strong analytics, and leadership in a manufacturing or technology setting. This is a senior, on-site role requiring collaboration across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration, or related.
• Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, production planning, or inventory management.
• 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a complex manufacturing/industrial/tech environment.
• Proven expertise in demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and S&OP processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end supply chain planning strategies including demand & supply planning, inventory management, and S&OP.
• Analyze demand patterns, market trends and operations data to improve forecast accuracy.
• Ensure efficient material flow across manufacturing and distribution networks.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales and Logistics to align plans.
• Support new product introductions and capacity planning.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and best practices.
• Evaluate and implement advanced planning tools to improve visibility.
• Establish and monitor supply chain KPIs and take corrective actions.
• Prepare reports and insights for senior management.
• Lead, coach and develop planning talent.
