Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for STP environments.
• Experience with motor control wiring and DOL/WYE Delta configurations.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies in the field.
• Familiarity with WWTP operations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues across STP areas.
• Assist Operations supervisors and operators with SOPs and safety rules.
• Inspect and monitor STP equipment performance and propose corrective actions.
• Record findings and repairs for submission to RS/EDD.
• Provide immediate technical attention during emergencies while roving between areas.
• Support reporting of issues to EDD team and client counterparts.
• Participate in inspections, special projects, and random checks with Operations.
• Assist in scheduling, conducting, and validating preventive maintenance.
• Prepare inputs for incident reports on equipment failures or accidents.
• Guide operators on troubleshooting and maintenance best practices.

About the role

Area Technicians are responsible for providing specialized technical support across all Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) work areas. They focus on emergency response on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and repair activities. As roving technical experts, Area Technicians ensure operational continuity by addressing urgent issues, supporting preventive maintenance, and assisting supervisors and operators in maintaining safe and efficient wastewater treatment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in STP work areas

• Assist Operations supervisors and operators in ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, and housekeeping standards

• Inspect and monitor STP equipment performance; recommend corrective actions when needed

• Record technical findings, repairs, and troubleshooting activities for submission to RS/EDD

• Rove across work areas to provide immediate technical attention during emergencies

• Support supervisors in reporting technical issues to the EDD team and clients counterparts

• Participate in potential client inspections, special projects, and random checking with Operations teams

• Assist in scheduling, conducting, and validating preventive maintenance activities

• Prepare technical input for incident reports related to equipment failures, accidents, or unusual events

• Provide hands-on guidance to operators on troubleshooting and maintenance practices

About you

• Strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting including motor control wiring, install of DOL/ WYE Delta connections

• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies

• Valid unexpired driver's license for motorcycle

• Knowledge of WWTP operations, equipment maintenance, and safety standards

• Clear communication and documentation skills
